Semantic Insights™ started out as the R&D division of Trigent Software, Inc. focusing high-speed decision support systems. This resulted in our patented Fast Rules Selection Engine (FRSE). From there, our focus moved to extracting machine executable information form natural language text as accurately and fast as possible. We wanted to capture not only "what a text was talking about", but "what the text was saying about it".
Along the way, we found ourselves in the thick of Natural Language Understanding, Knowledge Representation for Real-time Reasoning, Machine Learning, Discovery, Natural Language Generation, Big Data, Semantic Web, and Graph Databases. Also, the original FRSE algorithm kept evolving to support explainable prediction, prescription, and high-performance simulation.
Dispite all the cool technology, we remain true to our customer driven beginnings.
Our Mission: Capture and apply human and world knowledge to support the important missions of our customers, when and where they need it.
Our clients come to us seeking solutions to complex technical challenges. At times, these challenges are translated into available solutions and at other times, they may require an innovative application of existing technologies. However, there are times, when some challenges may need entirely new solutions. For more than a decade, our team has consistently exceeded clients' expectations resulting in numerous Trade Secrets and US Patents (partial list below).
The pattern selector reads a predetermined library of equivalent
pattern sets and selects an equivalent pattern set for the declared pattern. The
selected equivalent pattern set corresponds to the declared pattern and
represents a set of equivalent declared patterns.

The natural language sentence is parsed for identifying possible
parts of speech for each term and identifying possible phrase structures. Terms
comprising one or more linguistic roles are identified. The possible sense
combinations for the terms with linguistic roles are identified. Emergent
categories are applied to identify possible valid senses for each of the terms
with identified linguistic roles.

Parts of speech in the sentence are tagged for identifying parts of
speech of each word and phrase in the sentence. Sentence chunking is then
performed using the identified parts of speech of each word and phrase to
generate pattern units.

The process of capturing and applying the reading style includes the
following activities: determining the reading style of the user, creating a
worldview of the user using the reading style, applying the worldview to a
document corpus, determining the information of interest, and reporting the
desired information to the user in a report format.

The step of generating the writing style further comprises the steps
of generating a prose style and report pattern style, generating the rendering
style of a user, and applying the writing style to the information of interest
to provide the constructed report.

A rules-based system makes use of a specification that is similar to
those used in earlier systems, such as in OPS5, but does not require the
computational complexity of implementations such as Rete.

On October 4 2019, Semantic Insights will give an invited presentation to the DoD Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) Solutions Meeting at MITRE in McLean, VA. The JAIC meeting is being coordinated through DoD's Rapid Reaction Technology Office (RRTO) and has been organized to enhance awareness of innovative, industry-led AI advances that may have near-term applications in addressing pressing DoD cyber security challenges. Semantic Insights will present and demo its Real-Time Predictive and Prescriptive Simulation (REPS) product, AI/EBL software that can enable real-time DoD defensive cyber operations by detecting, predicting and adapting to evolving and new cyber threats.
Over the last 17 years, Semantic Insights has provided mission critical applications to the manufacturing, planning and transportation industries. Semantic Insights holds multiple AI and natural language processing (NLP) and understanding (NLU) patents.
